Vihtavuori powder N130, formerly known as N303, is a multipurpose powder for various rifle calibers and is suitable especially for small game hunting and target shooting.
The N130 has been used in many factory-loaded calibers .22 and 6 mm PPC cartridges. It is also an excellent handloading match for lighter bullets in caliber .223 Remington and for straight-wall rifle cases like the .45-70 Government and the .458 Winchester Magnum.
The N130 is a single-base, tubular rifle powder type with grain dimensions of 1,0 mm in length and 0,6 mm in diameter. On the scale of our rifle powders, the burning rate is relatively fast. Fun fact: The grain size of N130 is exactly the same as with N133 and N135, but due to differences in surface coatings, the burning behavior of these powders is different.
Pro-tip for using N130 gun powder
Jarkko Laukia, a multiple medalist in international ISPC competitions, has been using Vihtavuori powder N130 with great success. He was in the Finnish Gold medal-winning team at the 2017 Russia Rifle World Shoot whilst clinching the bronze in the Open series and silver in the Shoot Off, with ammo loaded with N130 and also N140.

WHY CHOOSE VIHTAVUORI POWDERS FOR RELOADING?
All of our gun powders meet the strict requirements of both civilian and military needs.
They’re Clean Burning
Our use of only the finest of raw materials is a renowned characteristic of all Vihtavuori powders. We take great pride in producing a very pure and clean-burning powder that allows longer shooting sessions between cleanings.
The clean-burning characteristics of our rifle and handgun powders result in greatly reduced carbon build-up and powder fouling.
Ultimately giving longer barrel life for rifles. Read more on our rifle and handgun powders here!
They come with a Decoppering agent
After extensive testing and development, we’ve begun adding a decoppering agent to all of our smokeless powders. This additive deters the adhesion and build-up of copper fouling in the bore, ie. the inside of the barrel of a firearm.
They’re extremely temperature stable
Temperature stability in reloading powders has always been a consideration, but with the recent improvements in Long Range and ELR shooting, it has become a factor of major concern to shooters.
Firing at long ranges places greater demands on ammo, equipment, and the shooter himself for instance.
Enabling a shooter to meet these demands means refining the process, and eliminating those variables which reduce hit probability.
They’re lot-to-lot consistent
This demanding process requires constant testing, verification, and adjustment to ensure that each run is perfectly compatible with those before and after.
This is a guiding principle of our powder production philosophy in other words.
We require extreme accuracy and quality at every step of our production process, most importantly.
VIHTAVUORI IS EXPERIENCED, QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP FOR THE PERFECT AMMO
